Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about services, the AD Waiver, and getting started with Reliable One.
What kind of care does Reliable One provide?
Reliable One provides non-medical, in-home support — including personal assistance, respite, meal and household support, companionship, and community/errand support. We do not provide medical treatment, skilled nursing, or therapy services through this program.
Can I choose what kind of help I receive?
Yes. Reliable One is built around person-centered care — we learn your routines, preferences, and goals before support begins, and you stay in control of what your care looks like.
I live in an assisted living or independent living community — can Reliable One still help?
"Home" doesn't have to mean a traditional house. If an assisted or independent living community is where you live now, contact us — we'll talk through what support could look like and whether it fits alongside the services your community already provides.
How quickly can services begin?
Timing depends on required approvals, authorization, scheduling, and staff availability. We don't promise same-day service, but we move as quickly as the process allows and will keep you informed along the way.
What areas does Reliable One serve?
Availability varies by location. If you don't see your community listed, contact us to ask about current availability.
Do I need Medicaid or the AD Waiver to receive services?
No. Reliable One offers private-pay, non-medical in-home care for individuals and families who are not on Medicaid or an AD Waiver. We also serve individuals with an AD Waiver authorization, within our approved scope of services.
Does Reliable One determine AD Waiver eligibility?
No. Eligibility for Nebraska's Aged & Disabled Waiver is determined by Nebraska Medicaid/DHHS, not by Reliable One. We can point you toward official resources, but we do not make eligibility decisions.
How much does private-pay care cost?
Private-pay costs depend on the type and amount of support you need. Contact us for a conversation about your specific situation — there's no cost or obligation to ask.
I'm a social worker or discharge planner — how do I refer someone?
Visit our Referral Partners page for information on who we serve and a dedicated referral form.
Is Reliable One hiring?
We're building our team of personal care aides, caregivers, respite workers, and in-home support professionals. Visit our Careers page to tell us you're interested.
